Back to School with AIM Institute: Professional Learning Highlights

AIM is proud to partner with educators and leaders in over 39 states to provide high-quality literacy training opportunities for educators at all levels. As part of these partnerships, we are excited to offer state-funded AIM Pathways training to educators and leaders in many states across the country.

MD State Department of Education logoAIM is excited to support Maryland school leaders and secondary educators beginning September 1st as part of a four-year philanthropic partnership with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and Ibis Group.

Education leaders around the state will begin Pathways to Literacy Leadership coursework next week and 5th-12th grade educators will dive into Pathways to Proficient Reading: Secondary on October 1.

MSDE has selected LEAs whose teachers and leaders are eligible for these professional learning opportunities.

Back to School Training for New AIM Teachers

NewPathwaysTrainingAt AIM Academy, our 1st-12th grade school for students with language-based learning differences, we say we teach literacy all day.

That means that during new teacher orientation last week, all of our new team members, including the Spanish teacher and the drama teacher, began their AIM Pathways training.

They launched their work with our Demystifying Dyslexia module and will continue their work with additional Steps to Literacy modules. The new teachers also joined Aviva Coyne-Green, an AIM Academy Curriculum and Instructional Leader and AIM Pathways facilitator, for a session learning about all the strands of Dr. Hollis Scarborough's Reading Rope and how these can be translated into instructional practices.
