Empowering Educators: How AIM Pathways Transformed Audra Haas' Classroom
At AIM Institute, we believe empowering educators with the latest research-based tools and strategies is key to transforming literacy education. One of our inspiring stories comes from Audra Haas, a dedicated teacher in Kearney, Nebraska, who participated in AIM Pathways training and won our Tell Your Pathways Story contest last year.
In 2021, Audra's curriculum director introduced AIM Pathways to a select group of teachers on a literacy committee, inviting them to pilot AIM's Pathways to Proficient Reading course. Audra found this opportunity to be a turning point in her teaching career. "It’s made a huge difference in the way that I approach teaching reading," she reflects. The training empowered her to move beyond the traditional one-size-fits-all approach by equipping her with tools to diagnose and address the specific reading challenges her students faced.
Audra found that AIM Pathways provided a robust framework for understanding the complexities of reading development. One of the standout features of the training for Audra was the ability to identify precisely where a student might be struggling. "I’ve learned ways to diagnose exactly what a kid is struggling with in reading," she explains. With this understanding, she can tailor her instruction to meet each student's unique needs, resulting in more effective learning experiences and better outcomes for her students.
